As the semester winds down and stress begins to build, Suffolk County Community College students will have a chance to pause, recharge, and reconnect during No Stress Zone, a series of events designed to support wellness and self-care.
Hosted by the Campus Activities Board, the program includes three events spread across the week, each offering students a different way to relax, reflect, and take a break from academic pressure.
The series begins on Monday, April 27, with Sacred Self: Centering Wellness and Care from 2 to 3 p.m. in Captree 113. The program will invite students to reconnect and recharge through movement, breathwork, and grounding practices focused on rest, affirmation, and community care. Refreshments will also be provided.
The next event will take place on Wednesday, April 29, when students can attend Guided Meditation and Sound Bath from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Captree Lounge. The event offers another opportunity for students to step away from the pace of the semester and spend time in a calmer, more reflective environment.
The week will conclude on Friday, May 1, with the Out of the Darkness Kick Off from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Captree Café. The event is a mini walk with uplifting activities in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Together, the events reflect a broader message: caring for mental and emotional well-being is just as important as keeping up with coursework. At a time in the semester when many students feel overwhelmed, programs like No Stress Zone create space for rest, reflection, and community.
For students looking for a break in their routine, No Stress Zone offers more than just a chance to relax. It offers a reminder that support, wellness, and connection all matter on campus too.
