About Us

The Western Student Press serves as the news & views written by students for students at the Grant Campus of Suffolk County Community College located in Brentwood NY. It has repeatedly been designated an award-winning college publication — including a Best College Newspaper on Long Island  — by the Press Club of Long Island which is the Long Island chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists.

In addition to its print editions found on racks in each building on campus, the Western Student Press now has a new and exciting interactive website which boasts up-to-the-minute features, arts & entertainments, opinions, and announcements.
