During Black History Month, the Campus Activities Board hosted a lively “Open Ball” event celebrating the art of voguing, organized by Jamie Paul. Rooted in the vibrant ballroom scene of New York City, Voguing is a highly expressive dance form that combines sharp poses, dramatic movements, and confident performance inspired by fashion models and magazine poses. The style emerged from Ballroom Culture, where dancers compete in themed categories and are judged on creativity, style, and presence. Over time, voguing has grown into an important cultural expression, celebrating individuality, confidence, and community while highlighting a significant part of Black and LGBTQ+ history.
