The Killers have made an appearance on the show The O.C. in the season 2 episode “The New Era” where they performed “Mr. Brightside,” “Smile Like You Mean It,” and “Everything Will Be Alright.” It helped the band gain popularity in the US.
Brandon Flowers got the band name from a logo on the bass drum of a fictional band called The Killers, which appeared in the music video for the 2001 New Order song “Crystal.” Flowers first saw the name and logo in the video and decided it was a great name for his own band.
