Christopher Maguire, Editor-in-Chief
Christopher Maguire became Editor-in-Chief for Western Student Press in the Spring semester of 2024, building on his previous role as a staff writer in Fall of '23. He had previously attended SCCC from 2007-2009, where he wrote for The Compass and has recently returned to finish his AA in General Studies and before ultimately transferring to a four-year university to obtain a BA in English.
Additionally, Christopher works as a chef/baker and has twelve years experience working in restaurant kitchens. In addition to cooking and baking, he enjoys reading, playing the drums and walking his dog, Beans, who is a very good boy.
Christopher also loves true crime and professional wrestling. His favorite novel is Middlemarch by George Eliot. His favorite movie is a tie between Goodfellas and Jaws. He has an unusual infatuation with the television series, The Sopranos. Christopher aspires to someday make a living writing books and solving mysteries, like Jessica Fletcher on Murder, She Wrote.
