Christopher Maguire, Editor-in-Chief
Christopher Maguire became Editor-in-Chief for Western Student Press in the Spring semester of 2024, building on his previous role as a staff writer in Fall of ’23. He had previously attended SCCC from 2007-2009, where he wrote for The Compass and has recently returned to finish his AA in General Studies before ultimately transferring to a four-year university to obtain a bachelor’s degree.
Christopher also works as a chef/baker and has twelve years experience working in restaurant kitchens. In addition to cooking and baking, he enjoys reading, playing guitar and the drums and walking his dog, Beans, who is a very good boy.
Christopher also loves true crime and professional wrestling. His favorite novel is Middlemarch by George Eliot. His favorite movie is a tie between Goodfellas and Jaws. He is obsessed with the television series, The Sopranos.
Christopher aspires to someday make a living writing books and solving mysteries, like Jessica Fletcher on Murder, She Wrote.
