Welcome to the Fashion Club! We meet Wednesdays in the Suffolk Credit Arena room A212 from 12:30PM-1:45PM. This club focuses on the importance of fashion while exploring creative ideas, styles, and the history of fashion. Clothing is an important way to express yourself, feel better, and even inspire others. At the Fashion Club we focus on different ways to style clothing. For example, patchwork and sewing were done last semester. This spring we plan to do fun things like having a Fashion Show on April 2nd and even go to FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) on April 10th, which is a fashion school that is in New York City. So, come join us, find a community, find friends, learn, and ultimately grow as a person. We are passionate about what drives you. We hope what you learn through this column will inspire you. This club usually involves lectures, projects, hands-on work, and possible guest speakers! It is an overall fun and cohesive hour.
I, “Ro,” love being the founder/President of the Fashion Club at Suffolk County Community College (SCCC) because I know there is a significant purpose behind it. I’m grateful I was able to inspire people last semester, be a blueprint for them, and even help those who are looking for their place in a room. This is an excellent start not just for me, but also for those who want to deeply express themselves and make connections. It amazes my mind how a “small choice” such as forming a fashion club can completely transform my life. I’ve gotten deeper into the fashion industry, made valuable connections, and consider myself fortunate to be able to work in my chosen field. This club has positively impacted not only me but also the club members, adults, students, and even individuals who view the fashion club content. Words cannot explain how grateful and appreciative I am to be in this position!
Now, let’s create life changing memories! Remember, fashion is more than just wearing clothes — it’s the ability to become different variations of yourself whenever and however you want!
