Karate is a sport that goes way back in time. Lots of people enjoy karate as it helps with their motivation, self-esteem, and self-confidence. Different techniques that are taught include stances, kicks, punches, blocks, and strikes. It helps people relax and get their mind off of things. In karate, people wear a uniform and a belt depending on their ranking. The belt colors are white, yellow, orange, green, purple, blue, brown, red, and black — the highest ranking.
In my opinion, karate is important for people to learn about, and it’s just as important that they understand the rules — such as not using it out of anger or outside of the dojo as it can really hurt someone.
There is a show on Netflix called Cobra Kai, which is based on The Karate Kid movie starring Ralph Macchio. The show is about the rivalry between Daniel and Johnny as they had a bad history back when they were teens. They both open dojos working against each other but eventually come together as one. Both of them teach high school students and they learn the “wax on wax off,” as well as what it takes to win the all-valley championship.
